Norwegowie mają obecnie w Polsce 253 stacje paliw. Sieć własna to 217 obiektów, a stacji działających na zasadach franczyzy jest 36. Firma szacuje, że ma 6 proc. polskiego rynku paliw.

Statoil chce jednak w ciągu najbliższych lat zwiększyć udział w rynku do 10 proc. Dlatego zamierza bardziej dynamicznie rozbudowywać sieć. Przede wszystkim stacje typu 1-2-3, na których można tylko zatankować paliwo i jest ono tańsze niż na stacjach typu Premium. Obecnie firma ma 33 takie stacje, ale jak informuje Krystyna Antoniewicz–Sas, rzecznik koncernu, do 2010 roku ma być ich 100. Stacje 1-2-3 będą otwierane samodzielnie przez Statoil.

Koncern chce też rozwijać sieć franczyzową, która liczy aktualnie 36 obiektów. W ciągu najbliższych lat powstać ma ok. 70 nowych stacji franczyzowych, głównie typu Premium.
